The 2019 Nancy Hillier Memorial Lecture “Climate Justice - new community activism”

As the climate crisis deepens, activists have evolved new approaches with spectacular success in raising public awareness. Particularly crucial are the interventions of younger activists demanding action to protect their futures and the future of the planet.

Nancy Hillier was a tireless campaigner on behalf of people and places in the Botany Bay area of Sydney. This annual lecture acknowledges Nancy’s legacy by providing a forum to discuss major social and environmental issues from the perspective of campaigners and activists.
