Choose to Reuse Photo Competition

Show us your reuse game for a chance to win prizes! 

How to enter? Share your best photo showing reuse in action at UNSW following this link. This could be: 

  • Ordering your favourite drink in a reusable cup 
  • Enjoying a meal in a reusable container 
  • Using the Home Ground mug library 
  • Rinsing your reusable kit at the campus dishwashing station 
  • Dining in with reusable crockery at a campus retailer 

Terms & Conditions (T&Cs)

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Entries must comply with these terms and conditions to be valid. 

The competition titled Choose to Reuse Challenge (the Competition) commences at 09.00 Sydney (GMT+11) on 14th July 2025 and ends at 23.59 Sydney (GMT+11) on 1st July 2025 (Competition Period). 

Entry is open to all UNSW staff and students with a zID. To enter, Eligible Entrants must, during the Competition Period, visit this link and fully complete the online entry form. A limit of one entry applies per person.

  • Ten winners (five staff and five students) will be selected and announced by 7 August 2025. Student winners will receive a 1of 5 $50 Arc Grad Shop voucher. Staff winners will receive a 1 of 5 $30 Thoughtful Foods voucher.  

  • Winners will be notified within 48 hours of the judging taking place in writing by email. Digital vouchers will be sent by email and redeemable for a period of six months. The Prize is not redeemable in cash or an alternative prize and a winner’s entitlement to the Prize is not transferable. 

  • All Prizes will be distributed after the close of the Competition. If a Prize is not accepted or claimed within three months of the Judging Date and Time, the relevant winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and the Promoter will distribute any unclaimed Prizes to the next best ranking entry or entries (as applicable), as determined by the judge. 

An Eligible Entrant’s entry must not include: 

(a) any image, video or voice of any other person without that person’s express consent; 

(b) any content that contravenes any law; and 

(c) any content that is obscene, offensive, potentially defamatory, discriminatory, indecent, prejudicial or inconsistent with prevailing community standards. 

All eligible entries will be judged by a panel on 11th July 2025. The panel will select ten winners (five staff and five students) based on the following criteria: 

  • Relevance to the theme (40%) 

The photo clearly showcases reuse in action at UNSW, such as: 

  • Using a reusable cup, container, and/or cutlery 

  • Participating in the Home Ground mug library 

  • Rinsing reusable items at a dishwashing station 

  • Dining in with reusable crockery at a campus retailer 

Human element (20%) 

  • Preference will be given to photos that include people actively engaging in reuse practices. 

Creativity (20%) 

  • The photo demonstrates originality, creativity, or a unique perspective that inspires others to choose reuse. 

Photo quality (20%) 

  • The photo is clear, well-composed, and visually engaging. 

  • High-resolution images are encouraged, but phone photos are welcome and will be judged equally based on content and storytelling. 

By entering this Competition, Eligible Entrant agrees that the submitted photo may be used by UNSW in future Choose to Reuse campaigns or all UNSW promotional materials (i.e SDG website).  

Eligible Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event that they are a winner in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting this Competition. The Promoter is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury to Eligible Entrants resulting from entering or participating in this Competition including arising from any comments made, or material published, by third parties about the Eligible Entrants on any social media platform in connection with this Competition.
